Catching a tagged trout in Washington lakes could net $37,000 in prize money
My dad loved fishing, so it’s kind of a right of passage in my house to love fishing. If you like fishing, you could share more $37,000 in Washington State prices.

Washington State’s 2022 trout season will begin on Saturday April 23 and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has stocked Washington lakes full of trout that could fetch you prizes.
Fish in the WDFW Fish Derby, find tagged trout in Washington lakes, and win prizes
According to the WDFW, more than 100 lakes in Washington state have been filled with tons of fish, giving anglers a chance to reap handsome rewards for fishing in Washington Lakes.

If you want to participate in the fishing derby, you will need to have an annual freshwater, wetsuit or Washington fish fishing license. The license must be valid until March 31, 2023.
How it works according to the WDFW website:
1. FISH A PARTICIPATING LAKE
Check out the list of all Trout Derby 2022 lakes to find one near you.
2. CATCH MARKED TROUT
The derby winning trout will have a white label attached to their fin. Keep the label! You will need it to claim your prize.
3. COMPLETE THE FORM BELOW (Coming soon)
Enter the tag number on the side of the derby tag, the lake you caught it in, the date it was caught, and your contact information.
4. WIN BIG
Bring your tag to the business location provided to you and claim your derby prize!
5. SHARE YOUR SUCCESS!
Snap a photo of you and your winning derby trout to share on social media. #watrouterby
