Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager of Central Railway inspected the first electric locomotive shed of Indian Railways in Kalyan on September 29, 2021. Gopal Chandra, Senior Electrical Engineer, Central Railway, Shalabh Goel, Division Manager of Railways, Mumbai Division and other senior staff from Headquarters and Mumbai Division were also present during the inspection.
During the visit, the Director General inaugurated the âProgress, Planning & Investigation Organizationâ (PPIO) section which is involved in the planning of all maintenance programs, tracking locomotives online, investigating different types. breakdowns and coordination with the departments concerned. and divisions to keep trains running smoothly.
The general manager also inaugurated the âtransformer oil filtration plantâ with a capacity of 3000 liters per hour. The transformer oil filtration plant is an important part of locomotive maintenance which keeps the oil safe and removes all dissolved gases and moisture.
Anil Kumar Lahoti also inspected the WAP7 locomotive which is currently used to operate the CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express in Push-Pull mode. He visited the Electric Locomotive Hangar Inspection Shop, which has the capacity to perform inspections and minor timing tests of locomotives.
He also motivated the staff and appreciated their efforts, including the Push-Pull Rangoli they performed for the visit.
All Covid-19 protocols were followed during the inspection.
