The East Lancashire Railway is gearing up for a busy summer full of fun family events.

Peppa Pig and Friends Fun Day

For the first time ever, the heritage railway welcomes Peppa Pig and her friends, and guests can follow an activity trail, enjoy rides at a funfair and meet farm friends at a petting zoo which will be held at the Bury Transport Museum.

Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig will meet at the transport museum at different intervals and at the funfair guests can have their faces painted and expert balloon models.

The day ends with a ride through the Irwell Valley on a real heritage steam or diesel train, included in the ticket price.

Peppa Pig and Friends Fun Days will take place on Thursday August 25th and Friday August 26th.

Families can book tickets online now to ensure they don’t miss out on this all-new experience.

Day with Thomas

Everyone’s favorite little blue locomotive, Thomas the Tank Engine is back on the railroad after sold-out events earlier in the year.

Guests can meet Sir Topham Hatt at the station, then board a horse-drawn carriage and ride behind Thomas through the countryside on a fun trip to Ramsbottom station before returning to Bury.

At the Bury Transport Museum, the fun will continue with activities such as sing-alongs with the cheeky sweepers of Sodor Rusty and Dusty, balloon modelling, face painting and fairground rides.

A Day with Thomas will take place on Saturday August 6th and Sunday August 7th and will also return for later dates in October.

The magic adventure

This spellbinding adventure is the perfect interactive day out for all aspiring wizards and witches.

After selling out earlier in the year, the day returns with a chance for magicians to come together and enjoy mastering their wand, improving their broom skills and defeating the forces of evil.

Along with wizard-themed activities and photo ops, guests will set off on a two-hour train experience with the area’s top enchanters.

The next magical adventure of the year will take place on Sunday, July 31.

Bury Transport Museum

Just opposite Bury Station of the East Lancashire Railway, the industrial heritage of the North West comes to life before your eyes at the Bury Transport Museum.

The star attraction is located in the restored Castlecroft Goods Warehouse and will take you back through the 20th century, recreating what life was like with interactive exhibits and life-size vehicles.

A new hero exhibit has just arrived at the museum, for the first time ever visitors can see the iconic Union of South Africa locomotive up close on static display.

To buy tickets or for more information on any of the events, visitors should visit www.eastlancsrailway.org.uk or call 0333 320 2830.
