Mumbai IA Locomotive Inspection System Another Indian Railways ‘Digital India’ Initiative! In another boost given to digital initiatives as well as the launch of advanced technologies in various fields, the Western Railways Zone of the Indian Railways Network has commissioned an artificial intelligence-based locomotive inspection system. (IA) at Trip Shed, Bandra Terminus, which falls under Mumbai division. This new AI-based locomotive inspection system, according to a statement released by Western Railways, will go a long way in increasing efficiency as well as improving repair and maintenance work, thereby improving locomotive breakdowns. This new AI-based locomotive inspection system was put into service at Trip Shed, Bandra Terminus, starting December 18, 2021, the Zonal Railroad said.

According to the Western Railway zone, the AI-based locomotive inspection system is capable of performing the inspection of the sides, chassis as well as the roof.
