Bandh against arrest

The banned outfit called on a national bandh on Saturday to protest the arrest of its top leader Prashant Bose aka Kishan Da, who was wearing a ₹ 1 crore bounty on his head, by police in Jharkhand.

Bose was the mastermind behind more than 100 incidents of attacks and arson in Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Lakra said railway authorities were repairing the tracks.

All police stations in Palamu, Garhwa and Latehar districts under the Dhanbad Division of the Central East Railway were alerted after the explosion, DIG said.

ECR Railway spokesman PK Mishra said a diesel engine cart was damaged in the explosion.

Special teams from Barkakana and Barwadih have arrived on site to repair the railway tracks and work is underway, he said.

Hijacked trains

Several trains were diverted, while the special Dehri-Onsone-Barwadih and Barwadih-Nesubogomo trains were canceled.

The movement of passenger buses from Medininagar to Ranchi has also been stopped, a state government official said.
