PowerRail, Inc., based in Duryea, Pa., Formed PowerRail Engine Systems, described as “a full-service engine company offering a full line of new and remanufactured engines and engine components.”
According to PowerRail, three new AAR M-1003 certified facilities offer “a full range of major parts and components supporting EMD and GE engines, including Tier 0+ emission kits. In addition, EPA emission standard equivalents are available on most major components. The facilities provide “real reliability and quality for all demanding applications: rebuilt engines and new and rebuilt power packages, governors, turbochargers, water, fuel, oil and other engine related components.”
“As a company, we’ve grown so much over the years,” said CEO and Chairman of the Board, Paul Foster. “We started out as a distributor, but we’ve also moved on to manufacturing and remanufacturing. PowerRail Engine Systems is a big step for us. This range of engines is very complex and required an additional set of checks and balances in terms of quality, service and, most importantly, performance. The addition of the three new facilities and the formation of this new company allow PowerRail to expand our already extensive parts and components offering and position us as a true “one stop shop” for the rail industry.
Established in 2003 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, PowerRail’s offices and main distribution center are now located on a multi-hectare site in Duryea. The company offers a wide range of new and rebuilt railway parts and components, including bearings and journal housings, electrical rotating parts, engine components, compressors, pumps and motors, from its various facilities. manufacturing across the United States.
