The 60103 Flying Scotsman steam locomotive will return to the mainline and will be in Settle and Carlisle on Saturday, November 27, 2021.
The tour departs Manchester Victoria behind a diesel locomotive at 6:40 am and will pass through Salford Crescent (6:42 am), Bolton (7:02 am), Preston (7:44 am), Lancaster (8:15 am), Carnforth North Junction (8:24 am – Flying Scotsman added to the rear of the train), Carnforth (9:02 am), Settle Junction (9:50 am) and Hellifield at 10:00 am.
With Flying Scotsman now at the helm of the train, the tour will depart at 10:42 am and pass through Horton-in-Ribblesdale (11:04 am), Garsdale (11:28 am), Appleby (11:52 am), Langwathby (12:08 pm) and Carlisle at 1:19 pm.
After a short stay in Carlisle, the tour will depart at 4:14 PM and see Flying Scotsman pass through Penrith North Lakes (4:38 PM), Tebay (4:59 PM), Oxenholme Lake District (5:12 PM) and Carnforth South Junction at 5:32 PM where Flying Scotsman is replaced by a diesel locomotive .
The diesel locomotive will bring the train back to Manchester Victoria via Lancaster (18:34), Preston (18:56), Chorley (19:17), Bolton (19:30) and Manchester Victoria at 19:54.
