The Tornado steam locomotive will carry the luxury Northern Belle train this Saturday



This Saturday 2 October 2021, LNER A1 # 60163 Tornado will be doing part of a tour to Carlisle from Newcastle.

Departing Newcastle at 7:06 am behind diesel locomotives, the tour will pass through Durham (7:22 am), Darlington (7:46 am), York (8:34 am), Shipley (9:52 am), Keighley (10:10 am) and Carnforth at 11:15 am, where Tornado is added to the train .

Tornado will then continue on the West Coast Main Line, passing through Oxenholme Lake District (11:56 am), Tebay (12:22 pm) and Penrith North Lakes (12:47 pm) before arriving in Carlisle at 1:24 pm.

After maintenance and time for passengers to explore Carlisle, Tornado will depart at 3:15 p.m. and will pass through Appleby (3:58 p.m.), Ribblehead (4:48 p.m.) Hellifield (5:12 p.m. – where Tornado is off the train), Gargrave (5:50 p.m.), Skipton ( 6:00 p.m.), Castleford (7:09 p.m.), York (7:37 p.m.), Thirsk (8:08 p.m.), Darlington (8:44 p.m.), Durham (9:21 p.m.) and Newcastle at 9:45 p.m.
